Luca,

I'd start by taking a look in your Windows event log. Look for the
event

corresponding to the crash, and see what the details show. Sometimes

you'll get a clue as to the specific DLL or 4D plug-in that caused the

crash.

I'm have a program compiled with 4D 2004.7r3 that unexpetedly crashes

when

runs on windows Vista while it runs fine on XP. When I say unexpectedly

I

mean that the crash can occur in every part of the program
indipendently

from the user action. I've experimented the same behaviour on
different

machines and even  running interpreted structure.

Does anybody have experimended something similare or have some advice

that

can help to find the cause of the problem ?

My guess is you need to disable DEP for the 4D app:

(The Tech Tip mentions Windows Server 2003 but Vista has the same
feature)

Hi Luca

If DEP is enabled on the machine I would either disable it or add 4D
to the

list of excluded apps.  Check out the following tech tip for more
info:

Tim
